Contest – Royal Stay in Québec City 

Contest Rules 
(hereinafter the “Rules”) 

1. Contest Period

The “Royal Stay in Québec City” contest (hereinafter the “Contest”) is organized by Destination Québec cité (hereinafter the “Organizer”). The Contest begins on May 15, 2024, at 8 a.m. Eastern Daylight Saving Time (EDT) (hereinafter the “Contest Opening Date”) and ends on November 15, 2024, at midnight Eastern Daylight Saving Time (EDT) (hereinafter the “Contest Closing Date”). 

2. Eligibility

This contest is open to anyone who:

a)
 Is a travel industry professional with a valid IATA number; and

b) Has reached the age of majority in their region of residence during the contest period. 

3. How to Enter 

3.1 No purchase is necessary to enter the contest. During the contest period, entrants may enter using the method described below. Entry by any other means will not be accepted.

3.2 To be eligible to enter the Contest, entrants (hereinafter “Entrants”) must:

a) Register on the Académie Québec cité e-learning platform with a valid IATA number during the contest period.

b) Successfully complete the first three courses (“Québec City at a Glance,” “Attractions & Activities,” and “Local Flavours”) on the Académie Québec cité e-learning platform by November 1, 2024. There is a limit of one (1) Contest entry per person.
c)
The participant must send its 3 certificates of achievement to demonstrate course completion.

4. Prize

Grand Prize
A total of one (1) prize is available. The prize consists of: 
 

  • Round-trip airfare for two (2) people between the winner’s country of residence and Québec City Transfer to Québec City included. 
  • Accommodation for 5 days and 4 nights at selected 4- or 5-star hotels, including 2 nights at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, and breakfasts. 
  • 1 dinner for 2 people consisting of chef Gabriel Molleur-Langevin’s Discovery Menu at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac’s Champlain Restaurant.
  • 1 premium privilege card (some offers cannot be combined).


The total value of the grand prize is C$5,000.

Secondary Prizes
In total, 25 secondary prizes of C100$ value each are offered. The prizes consist of one of the following options:

* Basket of local Quebecois products
* Signature products from Destination Québec cité

The total value of the secondary prizes is C$2,500. 


5. Draw

On November 1st, 2024, at the Organizer’s office in Québec City, Québec, one (1) Entrant will be randomly selected from all Entrants who successfully completed the courses during the contest period. 

6. Odds of Winning 

The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received during the contest period. 

7. Prize Conditions 

a) Transportation to one of the departure cities is the responsibility of the Entrant and their travel companion. Certain dates are excluded: Québec Winter Carnival weekends, statutory holidays, and from December 23 to January 1. The trip must be booked at least 60 days in advance and completed by November 30, 2025.
b) The selected Entrant and their travel companion must travel together to and from Québec City. Travel arrangements will be made by the Organizer. The trip must be booked at least sixty (60) days in advance and completed by November 30, 2025. 
c) Reservations are subject to availability at the time of booking. The terms and conditions indicated on the Académie Québec cité website at the time of the Organizer’s reservation will apply. Insurance, personal expenses, personal travel insurance, and travel documents are not included in the Prize. The Organizer strongly recommends that the selected Entrant and their travel companion purchase travel insurance at the time of booking or prior to departure. 
d) On the date of travel, the selected Entrant and their travel companion are solely responsible for obtaining, at their own expense, all travel documents required for the trip by the relevant authorities, including but not limited to visas, passports, and vaccination certificates. These must be obtained prior to departure. The selected Entrant and their travel companion must respect the Contest validity dates and accept the options proposed by the Organizer, if necessary. No extension of the stay will be permitted. The Organizer reserves the right to offer a prize it deems to be of comparable quality if a program is cancelled and/or the Prize is no longer available. 
e) Flight reservations and arrangements for the Prize must be made by the Organizer on a date agreed to by the selected Entrant at least sixty (60) days prior to departure and will be subject to availability. The Organizer will provide the Entrant with a document containing full details and the procedure for booking.
f) All personal expenses incurred by the selected Entrant and their travel companion are their sole responsibility. The Entrant and their travel companion are responsible for their own transportation to and from the international airport of departure, as determined by the Organizer. The Organizer will not assume any liability of any kind whatsoever for any postponement, delay, or cancellation of the flight or any other component of the packages or any other transportation included in the Prize for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to weather conditions and equipment failure or malfunction. The selected Entrant’s travel companion must be a French resident who has reached the age of majority in their region of residence on the Contest Opening Date. In the event that the Prize is not accepted in accordance with the Prize conditions, the Prize will be deemed forfeited.
g) 
The Prize offered must be accepted as awarded and is not exchangeable, refundable, transferable, or redeemable for cash. 

8. Claiming the Prize

8.1 To be declared the winner, the Entrant whose entry is selected by the panel of judges must:

  • Comply with the conditions for entry set out in paragraphs 3 and 4 of these Rules.
  • Be reached at the email address provided on the contest entry form. If the selected Entrant cannot be reached within seven (7) days of being selected as the winner or fails to comply with the formalities of these Rules within the time limits mentioned above, all rights to the Prize will be forfeited, and another Entrant will be selected. If the second selected Entrant cannot be reached within seven (7) days of being selected or fails to comply with the formalities of these Rules within the time limits mentioned above, all rights to the Prize will be forfeited, and another Entrant will be selected. If the third selected Entrant cannot be reached within (seven) 7 days of being selected or fails to comply with the formalities of these Rules within the time limits mentioned above, all rights to the Prize will be forfeited. For greater clarity, a new Entrant will be selected to replace an Entrant who does not respond.
8.2 The winner will be named within thirty (30) days following the selection of the winner.
8.3 If the selected Entrant fails to comply with any of the above conditions or any other conditions set out in these Rules, they will be disqualified and the Prize awarded will be forfeited. 

9. Personal Information

From time to time, the Organizer may, with the Entrant’s consent, use the personal information provided on the Declaration Form to contact the winner to take possession of the Prize. 

10. General Conditions 

10.1 The Contest Organizer reserves the right to disqualify an Entrant or cancel their entry if it is proven that they are entering or attempting to enter this Contest in a manner that does not comply with these Rules. Such Entrant may be referred to the appropriate legal authorities. Any decision of the Contest Organizer with respect to this aspect of the Contest is final.

10.2 By entering this Contest, the selected Entrant and their travel companion consent, without additional compensation, to the use of their names, addresses, cities, regions, voices, comments, photographs, and/or other likeness for advertising or promotional purposes by the Organizer.

10.3 This Contest is subject to federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.

10.4 Forms that are incomplete, received after the Contest Closing Date, lost, in any way non-compliant, or sent by an unauthorized method are void and will not be accepted in the draws.

10.5 The Contest is managed by the Organizer. The Organizer assumes no responsibility for entry forms that are received after the Contest Closing Date, lost, stolen, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, falsified, altered, or destroyed, and such forms will be deemed void. The Organizer assumes no responsibility for any problem, failure, technical malfunction of any network line, online computer system, peripheral phone, software, server, provider, email, browser, or technical malfunction that may occur, including but not limited to any problem with the transmission or non-transmission of an entry form, regardless of cause. The Organizer is in no way responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by equipment and/or programs associated with or used by the Contest or by any technical or human error that may have occurred during the course of the Contest, including during the processing of entry forms. The Organizer assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, loss, defect in operation or transmission, communication line failure, theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to or alteration of entry forms. The Organizer is not liable for any injury or damage that may result from the holding of the Contest. All entry forms become the property of the Organizer and will not be returned to Entrants. The Organizer reserves the right to destroy all documents related to the Contest once the retention period required by law has expired. The Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, or postpone the Contest at any time, without notice, if any factor interferes with the conduct of the Contest in accordance with these Rules or in compliance with any regulation, law, or policy of any entity having jurisdiction over the Organizer.

10.6 By entering the Contest, Entrants acknowledge that they have read and understood these Rules and agree to be bound by and comply with them. Entrants certify that the Rules are comprehensive and reasonably available for consultation.
